Little Mann’s Nursery

With my impending due date less than 2 weeks away, I thought it might be time to finally do a nursery post! For any of you reading this who may not know, my husband and I are anticipating the arrival of our first baby, a little boy, on or before October 4th. We couldn’t be more excited and/or scared for this HUGE journey in our lives 🙂

When it came time to sit down and plan out the nursery, I went back and forth with picking a theme. Did I want one? What would I pick if I had to choose something? There are SO many options out there. And nothing special stuck out to me. I’m the kind of girl who feels very strongly if you are going to do a theme (whether it be for a wedding, room of your house, shower you’re throwing ,etc) you run with it 110%. In this case, I just couldn’t pick one.

Aside from all of that, this nursery is a declaration of love for our child. There is literally something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. It is not modern, it is not traditional – it just encompasses vintage flair, hand-me-downs and a few new pieces we just couldn’t resist having. If you see anything that strikes your fancy and you’d like to know where it was purchased from, leave a comment or send me an e-mail (using the Contact form above).

Some of my favorite items and the meanings behind them;

Rocking chair – happens to be the exact one that my Mom used to rock my sister and I to sleep at night, too special to pass up!

Crib – handed down from my dear friend Sarah…it’s a beautiful, shiny, dark wood couldn’t be more perfect.

Organic Bedding – purchased for us by my sister and friends, here and here on amazon.com

Mobile – I purchased this on eBay, but you can also find it here on amazon.com

My Pet Firefly – a gift from my Mom, it’s so stinking cute the way you tap the lid and it flies around in there, brings back memories of my own childhood.

Rosette Blanket – I purchased this on Etsy.com and cannot wait to use it for baby’s newborn session.

Vintage stackable suitcases – purchased at an antique store in South Carolina

Woven storage baskets – purchased from Ikea

“You Are My Sunshine” frames – gift from my Mom, purchased on Etsy.com
